EXT. HIGH SCHOOL -DAY

Danielle and group of friends are hanging out in front of the high school.  Danielle is looking across the street at a teenage guy ERIC standing by his car talking with a group of friends.  Danielle’s friend DEB sees this.

DEB

You should talk to him.

DANIELLE

No way. 

DEB

You know he likes you.

Eric looks over and smiles at Danielle.  She smiles back at him.

DANIELLE

If he wants to talk I’m right here.

Eric starts to walk toward her.

DEB

Looks like he wants to talk.

Danielle panics.

DANIELLE

Oh, no what do I do?

DEB

You’ll figure it out.

Deb smiles.  Eric arrives, Deb and the group leave them alone.

 

EXT. HIGH SCHOOL - DAY

Danielle and Deb are walking to Deb’s car. 

DEB

I talked to Eric.

DANIELLE

(angry)

What?  Why did you do that?

DEB

You wouldn’t tell me what happened.

DANIELLE

I can’t believe you did that.

DEB

We’ll you wouldn’t tell me what happened.  I was just trying to be a friend and help you. 

Danielle looks curious. 

DANIELLE

What did he say?

DEB

Nothing much.

DANIELLE

Tell me. 

DEB

He said you were a tease.

DANIELLE

What?  I didn’t even do anything wrong.

They arrive at the car. 

DEB

Well guys are like that.  They get the wrong idea very easy.

Danielle shakes her head and the both get in the car.

 

INT. GARAGE BAND GARAGE

Danielle, Deb, Jessica and two other girl band members are playing music and sounding pretty good.  Danielle is the lead singer.  Deb is playing keyboard. 

DANIELLE

(singing)

Need to make up a song here. 

The band stops playing and Danielle stops singing.

DEB

That’s sounding much better.  Let’s take it from the top. 

The band begins to play again.

 

EXT. GARAGE BAND HOUSE - DAY

Deb pulls into the driveway.  Deb and Danielle exit the car and walk over to the entrance of the house.  The door opens and Deb’s friend Jessica walks out.  She looks sad.

JESSICA

I got some bad news.

DEB

What’s wrong?

JESSICA

I have to quit the band.

DEB

What?  Why?

JESSICA

My mom thinks it’s a waste of my time.

Deb looks very upset.

DEB

Can we still practice here?

JESSICA

No. 

DEB

Great.  We were just starting to sound good.

JESSICA

I’m sorry. 

DEB

That’s ok.  Can we get our stuff?

JESSICA

Yeah. 

They all walk in to the house.

EXT. DRIVEWAY - DAY

Deb and Danielle walk out of the garage and over to the car they load a keyboard and guitar into the trunk of the car.  Deb looks over at Danielle.

DEB

Can we use your garage?

DANIELLE

No way.  It’s totally packed with stuff.

Deb looks discouraged.

DEB

Great.  Mine to.

They close the trunk and get into the car and drive away.
